The town of Deer Lodge is located in Southwest  Montana just off of Interstate 90 on the banks of the upper Clark Fork River in the heart of Big Sky Country.   Mount Powell (right) and other peaks of the Rocky Mountains dominate the local landscape.

In addition to its picturesque scenery and outdoor recreation, Deer Lodge also has many cultural events, local museums, and other historical attractions; offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the long and storied history of the town and the territorial west in general. 

Of special interest to history buffs will be the Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site, and the Old Montana Prison Museum Complex.
